The Temeleuti landscape reserve
The Temeleuți landscape reserve, situated between the villages of Temeleuți and Vălcineț (Călărași forest bypass, Temeleuți, plots 12, 13), is a protected area spanning 209 hectares. Managed by the Călărași State Forestry, this natural sanctuary boasts hornbeam forests intermingled with linden and other tree species. Many of the trees date back to the years 1950-1970 and gracefully adorn the ancient hârtop rocks. Within the reserve, one can encounter rare plant species such as sedges, ferns, female ferns, hemlocks, and more.
